Record-breaking EOFY momentum returns as 600+ assets from Garraway Group lead early consignment surge
[Yatala, Queensland, Australia – 7 May 2026] – Ritchie Bros. is gearing up for its 2026 Australia National Unreserved End of Financial Year (EOFY) Auction, with strong early momentum already building across the country and more than 600 assets from Garraway Group consigned ahead of the 24–25 June event.
Following a record-breaking EOFY auction in 2025 that delivered more than AUD $88 million in gross transaction value, setting a new national benchmark, Ritchie Bros. is preparing for another major sale as buyers and sellers move to maximise opportunities before 30 June.
Based on previous EOFY campaigns, the Australia National Unreserved Auction has typically attracted strong domestic and international bidding activity, supported by Ritchie Bros.’ global buyer network, targeted digital marketing campaigns, and seasonal buyer demand driven by tax planning and fleet upgrades.
With the instant asset write-off continuing to play a major role for Australian businesses, buyers are actively seeking late-model equipment to strengthen operations while improving their tax position before the financial year closes.
“EOFY is always one of the most important trading periods for our customers, and last year proved just how strong the market is when the right equipment meets serious global demand,” said Dom McGlinchey, Sales Director APAC at Ritchie Bros.
“Breaking the AUD $88 million mark was a huge milestone for the business, but more importantly, it showed sellers the confidence buyers have in the Ritchie Bros. platform. We’re seeing that momentum continue already this year, with more than 600 assets from Garraway Group committed early and strong consignment levels across construction, transport, agriculture, and mining categories.”
McGlinchey said early consignment remains one of the biggest drivers of stronger auction outcomes.
“The earlier a seller consigns, the more runway we have to market those assets properly. We’re not simply listing equipment online and hoping for the best. We’re building demand well ahead of auction day through digital advertising, targeted buyer outreach, custom SEO, and strategic asset grouping designed to maximise competition. Assets that go live early consistently generate significantly higher page views, stronger watchlist activity, and better auction-day results. That additional exposure matters.”
Early yard delivery also unlocks premium marketing opportunities, including drone video and enhanced asset presentation for larger consignments, helping sellers capture buyer attention both nationally and internationally.
For buyers, the EOFY National Unreserved Auction offers access to one of the largest selections of used equipment in the country, including earthmoving equipment, trucks, trailers, agricultural machinery, and mining assets, all selling unreserved.
“This is the biggest show in town for EOFY buyers,” McGlinchey said. “If you’re looking for second-hand equipment that’s ready to work, this is where the market comes together. Buyers know they’ll find the right gear, and sellers know they’ll get global reach and real competition.”
The countdown to 30 June is now underway, with inventory continuing to build across seven Ritchie Bros. national yards.
